Welcome to MEKS!
MEKS Gymnastics Academy opened it's doors in May of 2018 with a dream of creating an environment where every child can thrive. We vowed to provide the highest quality of coaching by hiring skilled coaches who are committed to bringing out the best in each athlete. And, we continue to provide regular in house trainings and to take advantage of outside trainings to ensure that our coaches are up to speed on the newest techniques. We started with brand new state-of-the art equipment, and we continue to add new equipment every year.
Today, owners Misty Carpenter and Jennifer Hollems continue their committment to our athletes and their families, whether those athletes are looking to compete at the highest levels or whether they want to participate briefly. Each athlete will have fun, make friends, gain strength and stamina, and grow in confidence through their experience at MEKS.
We are proud to serve the Anderson, Pendleton, Lapel, Fishers, Noblesville, and Muncie areas by providing gymnastics, tumbling, Flip and Flex and special events for their children. And, we are proud to contribute to the Madison County community employing more than 50 people, participating in local charity events, and helping kids stay fit and active.
Head Coach, Levels 7-10 and Xcel Diamond
Misty has more than 25 years of gymnastics coaching experience at every level from Pre-K through Level 10. Several of her former gymnasts have gone on to compete at the college level. Misty oversees all coaching, conducts regular coach training and develops team training plans and drills. She works with all team athletes, and serves as Head Coach for our gymnasts at levels 7-10 and Xcel Diamond.
Misty is married and has two wonderful daughters, both of whom competed as MEKS gymnasts. Her oldest, Madi, is attending Indiana University in Fort Wayne studying Radiology. Her youngest, Myleigh, is a junior who plays volleyball and sings in the show choir in addition to competing as an Xcel Diamond and as a member of the Lapel High School team. When not coaching, Misty enjoys watching her girls compete in their other sports and activities, spending time at the lake, and vacationing on the beach.
